Director
When Taylor Crouse approached me about directing the music video for "See Ya Later," I was immediately drawn to both the song and the creative challenge ahead. As a fan of the track, I loved its raw honesty about cutting ties — not just with romantic relationships, but with any toxic dynamic that's holding you back.
Taylor came to the project with big, ambitious ideas and infectious creative energy. My role became part creative collaborator, part creative strategist — helping him shape those ideas into a cohesive visual story that could realistically be executed while still honoring his artistic vision. We spent significant time in pre-production developing a narrative thread that would weave throughout the video, balancing cinematic storytelling with the performance elements essential to a great music video.
One of the biggest creative challenges was working across multiple locations while maintaining the video's punchy, dynamic pace. I developed specific choreography for Taylor that allowed us to move fluidly between environments and cut seamlessly from scene to scene. This approach gave the video its kinetic energy while ensuring every location served the story.
Directing Taylor's on-camera presence required a completely different approach than working with trained actors. I had to craft my shot list and communication style to guide him toward authentic, compelling performance while keeping him comfortable and confident. The key was creating clear, achievable direction that tapped into the genuine emotion behind the song.
The finished video captures exactly what drew me to "See Ya Later" in the first place — that liberating moment when you finally walk away from what's not serving you. It's bold, it's honest, and it moves with the same decisive energy as the song itself.
I'm proud of how we transformed Taylor's vision into something cinematic and impactful, proving that great music videos happen when artists trust each other enough to push creative boundaries together.
