Writer - Director
Two Pilates instructors bond over brutal client gossip before diving into a raw conversation about modern dating, self-love, and why sometimes the best relationship advice is learning to ignore relationship advice.
This scene captures the chaos of trying to figure yourself out when you realize everyone else is just as much of a mess as you are, if not worse.
As both writer and director, I wanted to create a space where two women could speak with the kind of brutal honesty that usually only happens between best friends in private moments. It's just two people being real about the absurdity of being expected to have your life together while constantly witnessing other people's disasters.
With this piece, I wanted to subvert the typical "girl talk" scene. Instead of reinforcing tired relationship clichés, Alli's journey leads her away from playing games and toward something more authentic and self-reflective. The comedy comes from that universal "are we ALL just winging it?" realization that's both terrifying and oddly comforting.
Ultimately, this is about the courage it takes to choose yourself first even when you haven't quite figured out how to.
